Polo is played between two teams who compete to get the ball in the opponent’s net. Forth plays in the Scottish divisions. We have a group of polo players at Forth Canoe Club – some having played for several years and playing for GB, others new to the sport.

Forth Canoe Club currently have two teams – one playing in the Scottish Polo League Division 1, and the other in Division 3.

We meet mainly on a Wednesday evening meeting at 19:30.

Racing through a course of gates. Our boathouse in Edinburgh has a set of slalom gates for training on the canal. Forth Canoe Club has produced Olympian slalomists including David Florence who won silver in Beijing in 2008 and London in 2012.Slalom training sessions are held on Tuesdays at the canal.

Currently our Slalom sessions are aimed at children who are at an intermediate level who wish to do a session where they can learn all about slalom kayaks.

Sprint & Marathon
Flat water racing for the speed demons.

Currently our Sprint and Marathon sessions are aimed at children who are at an intermediate level who wish to do a session where they can learn all about Sprint and Marathon kayaks and the discipline itself.

A variety of competitions are chosen every year, from marathons to sprint. Ages of 8+ can compete.

Adults that are interested in sessions, whether they are Beginners, Intermediates or Advanced paddlers are more than welcome.

Race down a river as fast as possible. Forth includes previous Scottish womens and junior champtions.

The thrill of the waves without the bother of having to stand up. Forth has been home to champion surf canoeists such as Neil Baxter.

Forth Canoe Club organises a number of Club Trips on rivers, seas, reservoirs and lochs throughout the year. Keep a watch on the calendar as well as your email for information regarding trips.
Pool Sessions
We hold baths sessions in the winter to practice skills including eskimo rolls in a swimming pool. Keep an eye out for further details on the website and your email fir further details nearer the time.
